KMV creates incredible record by painting 2762 national bird peacock drawings in 70 minutes

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a record for the maximum number of drawings of the national bird of India, the Peacock. This impressive achievement was officially recognised by the India Book of Records (IBR). This event was led by the P. G. Department of Fashion Designing and P. G. Department of Fine Arts.

Jalandhar, September 19, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a record for the maximum number of drawings of the national bird of India, the Peacock. This impressive achievement was officially recognised by the India Book of Records (IBR). This event was led by the P. G. Department of Fashion Designing and P. G. Department of Fine Arts. 

On this occasion, a total of 467 students made 2762 peacock drawings in 70 minutes on cotton stationery kit. The initiative was a celebration of artistic skill and creativity, as students used various pastel colours to paint and brought to life the graceful beauty of the peacock. Each drawing was unique, showcasing the students' dedication to the task and their ability to capture the essence of India's national bird. 

The record-setting event was held in KMV Auditorium and it not only highlighted the artistic abilities of the students but also underscore KMV’s commitment to encouraging creativity and innovation in education. This record-setting attempt is not merely about numbers but also a celebration of India’s rich cultural heritage. The peacock, with its vibrant colours and graceful demeanour, represents the beauty and diversity of India. Through this initiative, KMV aims to inspire students to take pride in their country’s symbols while honing their artistic skills. 

Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her enthusiasm for the event and averred that it is a proud moment for KMV. Our students have always excelled in both academics and extracurricular activities, and today they have proven once again that they are capable of achieving remarkable feats. Through this record-setting attempt, we hope to ignite a sense of pride and responsibility towards our nation’s heritage. She further maintained that this accomplishment will stand as a testament to the institution's long-standing tradition of academic and co-curricular excellence. 

Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Harpreet Kaur, Head, PG Department of Fashion Designing,  Dr Amarjot, Tarandeep, Dr Simarjeet and Yogeshwar Hans & all the organising committee for successfully organising the event. 

It is pertinent to mention that in order to ensure the authenticity of the record attempt, the entire process was meticulously documented. 

Dr. Pankaj Sital, Adjudicator, India Book of Records was present to oversee the proceedings and verify the number of drawings submitted.
