5 Departments Make Presentation for Seed Money Grant; A Remarkable initiative to Promote Research among Faculty & Students
Jalandhar, November 28, 2018: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar has always been committed to develop intellectual base through quality research of both faculty and students. In another initiative to promote research among its faculty and students, seed money will be sanctioned out of college funds to the researchers.. The Research Cell of the college invited proposals from teachers and students of all the departments and the presentation for these proposals were presented to the Research Board in a meeting. The meeting was chaired by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. Department of Computer Science, Department of Chemistry, Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, Department of Commerce and Department of Mathematics gave their presentation for the grant to the research board. Dr Harsh Verma from NIT Jalandhar, Dr BS Kaith from NIT Jalandhar, Dr Namrata Joshi from GNDU Regional Campus, Dr S.S. Bedi from NIT Jalandhar and Dr Geeta Partap from NIT, Jalandhar evaluated the research proposals as experts. Dr Manju Sahni and Mrs Narinderjit Kaur from the Department of Chemistry presented their proposal on the topic ' Effect of different solvents on reverse micellar extraction of dye from textile effluent', Mr Sehajpal Singh from the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication presented his research proposal on the topic 'The Role of Media in Higher Education', Ms Rashmi Bindra and Ms Namita Kochar from the Department of Commerce made their presentation on the topic 'Social Networking Sites: A Comparative Study of Youth Belonging to Urban & Rural Area' , Dr Pardeep Arora and Ms Rajni Bansal from the Department of Computer Science gave their presentation on the topic 'To study the impact of Social Media on Youth based on Machine Learning' and Dr Monika Rani and Ms Natasha Sharma from the Department of Mathematic gave presentation on the topic 'Solution of non-linear differential equations using non-perturbation methods'. Principal Madam lauded the efforts of all the departments and also inspired the teachers to involve students in advance research.
