KMV distributes more than 500 prizes to scholars during the Annual Prize Distribution Function

Jalandhar, April 4, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya - the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar in recognition of academic excellence and meritorious achievements of its scholars organized Annual Prize Distribution Function. 
The Chief Guest Padma Shri Prof. Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor of Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala was accorded floral felicitations on this occasion. The event was graced with the presence of eminent guests and worthy members of KMV Managing Committee namely Sh. Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Members of KMV Managing Committee Smt. Neerja Chander Mohan, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Smt. Sushila Bhagat, Smt. Neeru Kapoor. The proceedings of the ceremony commenced with an invocation to the Goddess of Learning. The Presiding Dignitary, Sh. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal, welcoming the distinguished guests reaffirmed his faith in the immense potential and monumental will of the KMV scholars, mentoring skills of the faculty and futuristic vision of the college Principal that can further take KMV to enviable heights of glory and success. He averred that today’s youth must seek inspiration from Indian history replete with innumerable narratives of mutual cooperation, co-existence and tolerance among diverse socio-cultural , ethnic and linguistic groups who remained undivided in their spirits. Therefore, one must not fall into the trap of divisive forces and carry forward our rich cultural legacy. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi read out the detailed Annual Report of the college’s outstanding achievements in various fields-academics, co academics, sports, cultural activities etc. Enumerating numerous success stories, she apprised the eminent guests that the institution is creating history by setting up new milestones in the academic arena. KMV, the first Autonomous women institution in Punjab, is also the only institution under GNDU to bag prestigious FIST and CURIE grant by DST, New Delhi. The Academic Autonomy of KMV has given a clear field to implement Upgraded relevant curriculum, innovative teaching methodologies, focus on learning outcomes, exposure to the larger world, global standards in teaching, Internships,Research and international partnerships with Academia and Industry. These successful initiatives implemented in letter & spirit are the winning streaks of KMV that has been forging new pathways  with accelerated changes towards evolution of human society for past 140 years. Progression plans being executed through academic structure have proved to be very dynamic and transformational in building students’ career.  Congratulating the achievers, Dr. Bedi wished them for their bright future and enlightened the august gathering on historic and colossal contribution made by KMV on educational landscape with its rich cultural, academic and historically valuable credentials that started way back in 1886. Dr.Bedi dwelled upon the role of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Founder of  Arya Samaj , who ignited the flame of national consciousness through promoting Indian languages. Today, NEP (National Education Policy) also focuses on Indian Knowledge System to connect Indian youth with their cultural roots. KMV- the Heritage Institution stands as personification of that vision of Patriotism and Culture envisaged by Swami Dayanand. Best Student of the Year Award was bestowed upon  Sujata, a student of M.Sc.FD, Sem. IV for her outstanding performance in academic as well as cultural activities. Anchal Pathania bagged Best in Research Award, Sanjana, a student of BCA sem. IV and Saniya, B.Sc. (Med.) sem.VI were joint recipients of Best KMV Ambassador Award. Best Player of the Year award was bagged by Khushpreet Kaur for winning accolades for her alma mater at various levels in Softball. More than 500 prizes were given away to the deserving scholars for bringing laurels to the Institution in various categories like Academic excellence, NCC, ECA, Entrepreneurship, Research, Innovation & Creativity, Leadership etc. The event also witnessed two releases-  next issue of “Sports Newsline” by Department of  Physical Education showcasing laurels won by sports stars of the college at various levels and Social Outreach -a compilation of various activities and programmes held under Social Outreach by various departments. The formal Vote of Thanks was accorded by Sh. Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee to all the distinguished guests and luminaries for gracing the occasion. 
Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Neeraj Maini, Head, PG Department of Commerce and Dr. Rashmi, P.G. Department of Commerce for successfully organising the event.
