KMV inaugurates 7-day NSS Camp
Camp held on the theme extending helping hand
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya inaugurated a Seven-Day National Service Scheme (NSS) Camp at Gandhi Vanita Ashram based on the theme “Extending Helping Hand”.
On the inaugural day, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi addressed the NSS Volunteers and Programme Officers regarding the importance of such camp. She also motivated all the volunteers to carry out activities under NSS camp with full enthusiasm and zeal and to make optimum use of this platform for social service. The inaugural session was chaired by Mr. Rahul Sindhu (IAS) SDM-1, District Administration, Jalandhar. Addressing the volunteers, he emphasized on the role of youth in the nation building and also motivated NSS Volunteers to work for social cause. He also acknowledged the remarkable work done by KMV in various social welfare activities and remarked that KMV have always made a lot of contribution to the welfare of the society. During the seven day camp, various workshops have been planned to enhance learning and writing skills of ashram girls related to various topics such as Math, Hindi, English, Art & Craft, Computer and Dance. A Talk on Beauty, Health & Hygiene by the Department of Cosmetology, KMV and Wall Painting by Department of Fashion Designing, KMV were also planned along with cleanliness and tree plantation drive. NSS Programme Officer Mrs. Ashima Sahni discussed with volunteers about schedule of the activities to be followed for one week which included the setting up of library and technical session on routines of library (for KMV Extension Library) at Gandhi Vanita Ashram. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV has always been taking various initiatives as college aims to contribute for betterment of the society in various ways & this camp is also one of the initiatives of KMV to contribute to the welfare of the society.
