KMV launches Environment Awareness Campaign to celebrate `Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised an Environment Awareness Campaign to celebrate the `Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, launched by our esteemed Prime Minister Narendar Modi.
Jalandhar, August 20,2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised an Environment Awareness Campaign to celebrate the `Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, launched by our esteemed Prime Minister Narendar Modi.
The event, coordinated by P.G.Department of Botany, the Red Ribbon Club, Saplings of Life and Eco Club under the aegis of Department of Student Welfare aimed to encourage students to plant a tree in honour of their mothers. This campaign will consist of week long various activities such as tree plantation drive, environment awareness and cleanliness rally and poster making. This initiative seeks to enhance forest cover and promote sustainable development.
The plantation drive under this campaign was commenced with the ceremonial planting of a tree by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. Following this, students planted various indigenous and resilient tree species in college campus.
Principal averred that the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” activity was a resounding success, with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty. She further maintained that this initiative not only honoured mothers but also contributed to the college’s efforts in promoting environmental sustainability.
Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare and Shikha Vashisht for successfully organising the campaign.
