KMV launches fitness campaign
The objective is to promote Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports
Jalandhar, September 3, 2021: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has initiated a fitness campaign. This campaign has been initiated by Department of Physical Education in collaboration with Department of Student Welfare promoting “Fit India Freedom Run 2.0” launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs &Sports. Under this campaign, KMVites performed various physical activities such as running, yoga, aerobics, stretching & cycling for at least 30 minutes daily true to the motto “Fitness Ki Dose Aadha Ghanta Roz”. Students shared their photos & videos performing physical activities on the social media in order to promote the importance & significance of physical fitness in one’s life. Students have uploaded their videos doing different exercises and have encouraged people to spend some time on exercise which will boost their health and immunity. KMVites have taken up the endeavour to send the larger message of keeping yourself fit and healthy.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that sports is not related to the sportspersons only, but it should be the part of life of every citizen. She averred that KMV has a very rich history of sports as it has always been the forerunner in all the sports activities. She further maintained that the sports of science emphasises on the holistic development of a person in all her aspects such as physical, mental & psychological. She averred that players at KMV are provided many facilities which include free education, hostel, mess & transport facilities. They avail a lot from state of the art infrastructure comprising Gymnasium, Health Club, Swimming Pool and sprawling play grounds.
Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare & Dr Davinder, Department of Physical Education for successfully initiating the campaign.
