KMV organises a special program for the release of the book `Life and Legend of Bhagat Singh

Jalandhar, October 18, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous ) organised a seminar for the release of the book 'Life and Legend of Bhagat Singh (A Pictorial Volume)' written by Prof. Chaman Lal, based on Shaheed-e-Azam S. Bhagat Singh. Shri Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. 

Dr. Rounaki Ram, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chair Professor of Political Science, Punjab University, Chandigarh, attended as the keynote speaker. The program was presided over by Prof. Chaman Lal. 

In addition to Dr. Satpal Gupta, a member of K.M.V. Managing Committee, other esteemed guests present included Smt. Surendra Kumari Kochar, Shri Chiranjee Lal, Desh Bhagat Memorial Hall, Dr. Pradeep Bhandari, Principal, Doaba College, and other luminaries. 

Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the guests in her address, emphasised on the role of books in providing knowledge, instigating change, and guiding human progress. She acknowledged Shaheed-e-Azam S. Bhagat Singh's significant contributions to India's freedom struggle and highlighted the KMV’s efforts in women empowerment. 

During the event, Prof. Rounaki Ram commended the institution's consistent efforts for women empowerment. Author Prof. Chaman Lal shared insights about the book, discussing various aspects of Bhagat Singh's life, his patriotism, and his vision for a free life. He also shared anecdotes about Bhagat Singh's family and the lessons of freedom taught by S. Bhagat Singh. He also said that he always thought that KMV was the most appropriate place to launch this book. S

Chander Mohan, in his address, emphasised upon the courage and enthusiasm needed to sacrifice for the country, as exemplified by Shaheed-e-Azam S. Bhagat Singh. He expressed pride in the release of a book based on S. Bhagat Singh in an institution like Kanya Maha Vidyalaya. It is noteworthy that during this occasion, General Mohan Singh's book 'The History of the Indian National Army Soldiers' Contribution to Indian Independence' was also released. An interactive session held during the program saw students asking questions related to Bhagat Singh and the freedom struggle, with guests providing straightforward answers. 

Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare, Dr. Monica Sharma, Director, Gandhian Studies Centre, and the whole organising committee.
