Jalandhar, September 26, 2023: A two-day district level Kala Utsav was organised by Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in collaboration with the District Education Office, Jalandhar. 

In the inaugural session of this festival, Gursharan Singh, D.E.O., Jalandhar was present as the chief guest and Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi was the guest of honour. Nodal Officer Maninder Kaur, Principal, Junior Model School was also present during this event. 

Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcoming all the guests averred that art plays a vital role in the life of every person and these kind of platforms help in developing the personality of the students as they get an excellent opportunity to showcase their talent in front of the whole world. 

Gursharan Singh speaking on the occasion lauded the initiatives taken by KMV from time to time for providing proper guidance and mentoring to the students in order to make the students confident and self reliant. The first day of the event was full of classical music and folk songs. 

More than 80 participants took part in the singing competition and won the hearts of all the listeners with their different singing styles and their melodious voices. In the boys' category of the classical music singing competition, Harshdeep Singh stood first, Anubhav stood second and Karan Singh stood third. With this, Mehak Bains got the first position in the girls category. Harshpreet Kaur stood second and Ritika stood third. In the traditional folk song competition, in the girls category, Harshpreet Kaur stood first, Ritika stood second and Aman Kaur stood third. In the boys category, Ankush won this competition by standing first while Sahil and Emanand got second and third position. 

The winning participants were honoured by the distinguished guests. Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare, Dr. Gurjot, Dean, E.C.A. for this organising this successful event.
