KMV organises a two-day workshop on Financial Education & Career Awareness

Department of Commerce and Business Administration in association with National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) organised workshop on Practical Aspects of Securities Market titled Financial Education & Career Awareness for the students of B.Com (Hons.) Sem. V, B.Com (Pass and Hons.) Sem. V, BBA Sem. V and M.Com Sem. I and III.

Jalandhar, October 3, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has always been making efforts for the holistic development of its students. In keeping with this tradition, P.G. Department of Commerce and Business Administration in association with National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) organised workshop on Practical Aspects of Securities Market titled Financial Education & Career Awareness for the students of B.Com (Hons.) Sem. V, B.Com (Pass and Hons.) Sem. V, BBA Sem. V and M.Com Sem. I and III.
On first day the resource person for the workshop was Anita Saini. Anita Saini acquainted the students with various concepts like Financial Investment Opportunities & also guided the students about the importance of financial education and financial investment opportunities. She discussed about Mutual funds, Systematic investment Plan and the process to invest in Securities markets. She further highlighted the importance of investment and Expense budgeting and the mandatory documents required for registration in Securities markets. She gave an in depth knowledge regarding financial goals, diversification of fund Investments and the impact of inflation. She also explained the three pillars of investment, types of asset classes and modes of Capital Issuances in detail. Anita Saini addressed the queries of all the participants very aptly.
On the second day of workshop, the Resource Person was Nagesh Kumar. He guided the students about Investment in Secondary markets, Role of SEBI and functions of stock market. He also discussed the process to invest through secondary markets & further highlighted the real time trading procedure in securities. He also discussed the practical aspect of procedure of dealing in mutual funds.
Principal Prof Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Dr. Neeraj Maini and other faculty members for taking initiatives to make the students abreast of developments, operations and trading in securities market.
