Jalandhar, May 31, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) Department of history organised webinar on changing gender roles in India. 

The resource person for the webinar was Dr Sajini P. Head, Department of History, VTMNSS College, Dhanuvachapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. 

Dr Sajni laid stress on the changing gender roles in India in particular and across the globe in general, she made the students aware that the roles of women have undergone great transformation since the ancient period. She also laid stress on the fact that Indian women led front roles in the ancient period, but gradually their roles changed, but in the current period we see that her role in society, in the house and her job is being acknowledged by her counterpart and family members. Though it is a long way, but still with changing mindset, the women of India will make a mark in the society. 

Dr Sajini said that the women of Kerala have made an impressionable mark in society, and her role is duly acknowledged by the government and the family. 

Principal Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the Department of History for organising lectures on such pertinent issues.
