KMV organises a workshop on Laboratory in Entrepreneurial Motivation
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) recently hosted an enlightening workshop titled “Laboratory in Entrepreneurial Motivation,” led by Prof. Sunil Handa, distinguished IIM Ahmedabad alumnus and founder of Ekalvya School.
Jalandhar, August 5, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) recently hosted an enlightening workshop titled “Laboratory in Entrepreneurial Motivation,” led by Prof. Sunil Handa, distinguished IIM Ahmedabad alumnus and founder of Ekalvya School.
The workshop was jointly organised by PG Department of Fashion Designing & PG Department of Chemistry in association with KMV IPR Cell and IIC. The workshop aimed to equip students with essential startup strategies and inspire them through real-life success stories. Prof. Handa, a renowned mentor in the entrepreneurial world, captivated the audience with his dynamic approach and profound insights into the startup ecosystem. He emphasized the importance of innovative thinking, resilience, and strategic planning in building successful ventures. He outlined the critical components of launching and sustaining a startup & highlighted the importance of market research, business planning, fundraising, and customer acquisition. He also stressed the need for adaptability and the willingness to pivot when necessary. Prof. Handa shared the success story various startups mentored by him with the story of the founder of Sugar Cosmetics, Vineeta Singh who transformed a passion for beauty products into a thriving business. He detailed the journey from the initial idea to establishing a strong brand presence in a competitive market. The motivational journey of Preethi Rai, author of “Being You,” was another highlight. Prof. Handa discussed how Rai’s book encourages self-discovery and personal growth, and how she leveraged her experiences to inspire others.
Prof. Handa also presented the remarkable story of Sheetal Devi, a Paralympic athlete nurtured by Prof. Handa who overcame immense challenges to achieve greatness. Her journey from adversity to success served as a powerful testament to determination and perseverance. He also shared the case study of Thrillophilia and discussed the momentous journey of its owner. The workshop included interactive one to one sessions where students had the opportunity to ask questions and seek advice directly from Prof. Handa. This engagement provided personalised insights and practical tips tailored to the students’ entrepreneurial aspirations. The workshop was a significant success, leaving students motivated and equipped with practical knowledge to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys. The real-life examples and strategic advice provided by Prof. Handa resonated deeply with the participants, fostering a sense of determination and ambition. Students expressed their appreciation for the valuable insights and motivational stories shared during the workshop. Many found the session to be a turning point in their entrepreneurial journey, offering a renewed sense of purpose and direction.
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her gratitude towards Prof. Handa for sparing her invaluable time for the students. She averred that KMV remains committed to fostering an environment that nurtures innovation and entrepreneurship among its students. She further maintained that organising such workshops, the institution aims to provide students with the tools and inspiration needed to transform their ideas into successful ventures. She lauded the efforts of Dr Harpreet Kaur, Head, PG Department of Fashion Designing and other faculty members for successfully organising the workshop.
