Jalandhar, October 14, 2016: At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar where the pointed focus remains on empowering young girls/ women by helping them attain self-dependence in all possible ways, PG Department of Fashion Designing and Merchandising recently organised a Pidilite Hobby Start-up Programme with 13 shortlisted teacher trainees. The resource person for the same was Mr. Rakesh Sen, a Gold medalist and an eminent artist of international repute. Many of these teachers have already been registered with the company which will help them further take part in workshops which provide orientation to youth to pursue their passion, their hobby and also to become financially empowered through it by gaining economic independence through entrepreneurship. The various hobbies that could provide creative self fulfillment that were taught during the workshop were innovative and interesting at the same time. The skills taught and displayed were an eye-opener to one and all. HOD PG Department of Fashion Designing Mrs. Harpreet Kaur acknowledged the support provided by Mr. Gajinder Rao, Area Manager Market Development for pidilite. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the faculty of Fashion Designing for provide the right orientation to the students and hoped that more workshops of similar nature will be organized in future.
