KMV organises awareness drive on National Education Policy
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P. G. Department of Economics organised an open house on the topic titled Education Transformation in India: Pioneering Policies and Innovative New Education Policy. The event commenced with a discussion on the education transformation in the wake of new education policies.
Jalandhar, September 18, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P. G. Department of Economics organised an open house on the topic titled Education Transformation in India: Pioneering Policies and Innovative New Education Policy. The event commenced with a discussion on the education transformation in the wake of new education policies.
The students presented their views on the new reforms introduced in the education sector that aim to provide a holistic and flexible learning experience to students by minimising the curriculum contents and focusing on 21st-century skills such as analytical and critical thinking, experiential learning, and creativity.
The students discussed about the benefits of an integrated approach in new education policy, multiple entry and exit system, research in higher education, technology, projects, internships, etc. in the NEP 2020.
The event also included the poster-making and rangoli-making competition on the education transformation. The students of B.Sc.(Economics), B.A., M.A. (Economics), B.Com. and BBA participated in the event. Ravneet Kaur from B.A. Sem-V and Ishleen Kaur from B.Sc. Eco. Sem V bagged the first position in the declamation competition. Kashish Verma from B.A. Sem I and Simarpreet Kaur from B.Com. Hons. Sem-I secured the first position in poster making competition. More than 100 students participated in the event. It was followed by an investiture ceremony of members of KMV Young Economist Association.
Ramandeep Kaur was elected as President, Kirandeep Kaur as Vice- President, Sonia as Secretary, Ishleen Kaur as Joint Secretary, Ramneet Kaur as Treasurer & eight students were selected as executive members of the department.
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated all the participants for their overwhelming response towards reforms in education policy.
Principal highlighted the importance of value based education and personality development programs in the New Education Policy which had already been implemented in Kanya Maha Vidyalaya as part of value-added programs in the form of Gender Sensitization, Moral education program, Foundation program, social outreach and Job Readiness program.
Principal lauded the efforts of Amarpreet Khurana, Head, PG Department of Economics and other faculty members of the department for conducting such meaningful activities.
