Jalandhar, April 30, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised an awareness lecture on Cyber Crime. The lecture was organised by Department of Student Welfare in collaboration with a team from Police commissionerate including Gurbinderjit Singh and Sandeep Bindra. Students showed keen interest and interacted with the speakers to clear their doubts regarding the same. Students were made aware of the changing dynamics of cyber space as they were told about importance of cyber safety and how to ensure same in their households.

Resource person also made the students aware about various threats and challenges posed by cyber criminals/hackers along with their modus operandi and were explained in detail about the measures to prevent the cyber crime. Students and staff were made acquainted with various cyber laws and the latest amendments & were also made aware about the various security features and techniques to ensure cyber security. 

Gurbinderjit said that Punjab Police is  making all possible efforts to tackle cyber crime on one hand by making use of latest cyber tools and also organising widespread awareness programmes on Cyber Crime  in order to instil confidence in the masses and to ensure better grievance redressal of victims at earliest. 

Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that it is very important that the students as well as the teachers should be made aware about the cyber crime as it poses a threat to one’s privacy. She lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare for successfully organising the lecture.
