KMV Organises a Book Review Competition

Jalandhar, April 12, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar organized a Book Review competition. The competition was organized by Reader's Club under the aegis of Student Welfare Department. The books for review competition included fiction, non-fiction, biography and autobiography. The main motive of the event was to develop reading skills among students. Number of students participated actively in the event and expressed their views on various books like Invisible Man, City of Bones, Twilight, Canterville Ghost and many more. Gurpreet Kaur (M.A. Punjabi) and Inder (B.A. English Hons. Sem II) bagged first prize, whereas Anshuman from B.Sc.(Non-Medical) bagged second prize. More prizes were also distributed under different categories such as motivational prize and consolation prize.
Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the students for their efforts and also encouraged them to keep up the same zeal. She averred that books quench our thoughts for knowledge and reading enhances our language skills and develops fluency, which helps us to express our thoughts and ideas better.
