KMV organises educational tour to National Institute of Technology

Jalandhar, May 9, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a one day educational tour to the Department of Mathematics , National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. The trip was organised by PG Department of Mathematics. 27 students of M.Sc (Mathematics ) and B.Sc (Hons.) Mathematics visited Mathematical lab of Department of Mathematics , NIT Jalandhar.
The purpose of this visit was to create interest among students for taking research projects in mathematics and how to operate MATLAB. At NIT, a session of counselling was conducted by Dr. R.R Sinha , Associate Professor , Dept. of Mathematics . He guided the students about the importance of research work in Mathematics and its different career aspects in IIT’s , NIT’s, IISER’s ,IIM’s and research institute in abroad.
After that a workshop on MATLAB was directed by a Dr. Shivraj. He told that MATLAB is a high level programming language designed for Engineers and Scientist that expresses Matrix and Array Mathematics directly. MATALB can be used for everything for running simple integrative commands to developing large scale applications like Coding to Matrix.
Head of department of NIT Jalandhar Dr. Damanjit Kaur , Dr. Jaspal Singh Aujla (Professor) , Dr. Geeta Pratap (Associate Professor), other faculty members and research scholars of NIT interacted with the students regarding the diversity of activities and research in the field of Mathematics.
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Veena Deepak, Head, PG Department of Mathematics, AnandPrabha, Dr Monica Rani and Nidhi for organising the educational trip successfully.
