KMV organises Rakhi & Thali Making Competition to mark the celebrations of Raksha Bandhan

Jalandhar, August 19, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a Rakhi Making & Thali Making Competition to mark the celebrations of Raksha Bandhan. The activity was organised jointly by Department of Student Welfare, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School.

The motive of organising this event was to create an awareness amongst our students for Eco Friendly Products. Under the competition, various events namely Eco-friendly/Hand made rakhi making and Thali making were organised. In the current scenario, where environmental hazards have adversely affected our health and welfare, this initiative by KMV witnessed an overwhelming participation of  students. Students made rakhis of cereals, pulses, cotton, match sticks and several other eco-friendly products. 

Principal Prof Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the participants for their skills, talent, creativity and for their invaluable contribution towards the environmental conservation. Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Head, Dean, Department of Student Welfare, Veena Deepak, Co-ordinator, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, AnandPrabha, Incharge, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School & other faculty members for the successful organisation of this event. In rakhi making competition for collegiate students ,GurleenKaur from +1 medical secured first position and Vaani from +2 non medical secured second position. Along with this, in Thali making competition Bishani from +2  medical bagged first prize and Sukhman from +2 non medical got second prize. In Rakhi making competition for college students, Simran Sandhu from B. Sc (FD) semester I secured First position, Pushpinder Kaur from B. Sc (IT) semester I secured second position and Ishivpreet pal from B.Voc. (NEH) semester III got third position. In Thali making competition Akshita Bansal from BCA semester III got first position, Sejalpreet Kaur from BCA semester V secured second position and Preeti from BCA semester I secured third position.
