KMV organises weeklong celebrations to commemorate National Science Day
A special guest lecture was organised by the Post Graduate Department of Physics to mark the day
Jalandhar, March 3, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organised week long celebrations to commemorate National Science Day. A special guest lecture was organised by the Post Graduate Department of Physics to mark the day, dedicated to Dr. CV Raman's invaluable contribution to the field of science.
The guest lecture was conducted by Mrs.Pragya Nopany, Founder & Co-ordinator, BVN –IAPT Anveshika. Addressing the students, she presented various videos and explained the complex concepts of physics in a simple way. Videos related to Force, Spectra, Magnetic Field, Guava Cutting, Rainbow, Magnet etc. especially impressed the students. At the same time she answered the various questions asked by the participants in a very simple manner. In addition to this, another Inter-College event Chem-Innovesta- 2022 was organised to manifest creativity and imagination of students for chemical experiments using things easily available at home.
Two National Level quiz competitions were organised to celebrate 'International Day of Women & Girls in Science-2022' and 175th Birthday of Thomas Alva Edison. Quizzes were conducted in the online mode in which more than 500students as well as faculty members participated from our entire nation. In this week online PowerPoint and poster presentation competition were also organised on the theme of National Science Day-2022. Various online competitions were organised such as Choreography, Rangoli, Poster making, Explora vision- write up and Brainstorm fun quizzes using kahoot app. Post Graduate Department of Botany also organised various competitions on the occasion of National Science Day under the theme 'Integration Approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future'.
Various competitions namely poster making, pot decoration competition, collage making & rangoli competition were organised in which students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. In the poster making competition, Nitanshi came first, Lovepreet and Mahik bagged the second place while Shweta and Ruchika bagged the third place. In the pot decoration competition, Deepika and Anshika won first and second place respectively. In Rangoli competition Lovepreet and in collage making Urvashi won first place.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the winning students and lauded the efforts made by the Faculty of Science for organising this successful event.
