KMV organises workshop on Career in Securities Market in association with National Institute of Securities Market

Jalandhar, October 20, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has always been making efforts for the holistic development of its students. In keeping with this tradition, P.G. Department of Commerce and Business Administration in association with National Institute of Securities Market (NISM)- an Educational Initiative of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), organised a one day workshop on Practical Aspects of Securities Market titled ‘Career in Securities Market’ for the students of B.Com (Hons.) Sem. V, B.Com (Pass and Hons.) Sem. V,BBA Sem. V and M.Com Sem. I and III.
The resource person for the workshop was Sanjeev Bajaj, General Manager with National Institute of Securities Market, Mumbai. Sanjeev Bajaj acquainted the students with various concepts like investment and its objectives, role and functions of NISM, Mutual Funds, Surplus and Deficit units and inflation. He also guided the students about various investment and career options available in the securities market. He further highlighted mandatory and voluntary documents required for registration in the Securities Market. He gave an in-depth knowledge regarding operations in brokers office, different segments of job roles and certifications required for these jobs & also explained different types of Mutual Funds, NISM certificate-5 A, SIP, Fee structure for registration and the regulatory bodies such as SEBI, RBI and MCA.
Bajaj addressed the queries of all the participants very aptly. The workshop was attended by more than 200 students.
Principal Prof Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her gratitude for the resource person and also lauded the efforts of Dr. Neeraj Maini, Head, PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration for taking initiatives to make the students aware about the latest developments in the field of Commerce and Industry.
