KMV organises workshop on goods and services tax

Jalandhar: Kaushal Kendra running under the flagship of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya always takes initiatives for growth and development of students. In keeping with the tradition, the Department of B.Voc Management and Secretarial Practices organised a ‘Workshop on GST’.
The Resource persons for this workshop were CA Ashwani Jindal and CA Piyush Bansal. Mr.Ashwani Jindal is the founder member of Chartered Accountant Association and income tax & GST Bar and presently he has been appointed as General Secretary in both of them. He explained that Goods and Services Tax is an Indirect tax used in India on the supply of Goods & Services. Mr. Ashwani told that GST is comprehensive because it has subsumed almost all the indirect taxes except a few state taxes. Mr. Piyush Bansal, Chairman of Jalandhar Branch of NIRC of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India made very important revelation that GST is a rapidly changing act and is of three types: CGST(Central Goods & Services Tax), SGST(State Goods & Services Tax) and IGST(Integrated Goods & Services Tax). Having rich and wide industrial experience, Mr. Piyush Bansal explained in detail the concepts of Supply, Input Tax Credit, Registration in GST, Concept of Composite & Mixed Supply. He said that www.gst.gov.in is the registration portal for GST and this registration is required by every person. He also addressed various queries of participants very effectively and made the things very crystal clear. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that this workshop will help to widen the knowledge horizon of all the students. She further maintained that KMV keeps on organising such meaningful activities in order to make the students excel in the practical aspect of their study.
