KMV organises Workshop on Google Fact Checking

Jalandhar, August 31, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a one-day workshop on Google Fact Checking. The workshop was organised by PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication.
Khyati Kohli, Managing Director, True Scoop News participated as a resource person in this workshop. Google accredited trainer Kohli, who has served as an Opinion Writer and Copywriter in various organisations related to countries like USA & Australia etc., while addressing the students pointed out the credibility of various sources providing news. Along with this, she said that it is very important to properly evaluate and investigate the facts of the news using the digital platform so that any kind of false and anarchic information can be avoided.
During this workshop, divided into three levels, Khyati, while stating her views with more clarity, shared various points to check the authenticity of photographs, videos and audios received in the form of news, using several important online tools. Detailed information was also provided about the correct use of digital tools to identify the fake news and at the end of the workshop various questions asked by the students were also answered in a very eloquent manner by the resource person.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her gratitude to Kohli for providing important information on this relevant subject to the students. She averred that in the present digital era, it is very important to analyse the information provided in the form of news by various social media and other websites. Principal lauded the efforts of PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication for successfully organising the workshop.
