KMV organises workshop on Waste Segregation and Hand Hygiene
More than 300 participants participated with full enthusiasm in this workshop organised under the research project granted to the faculty members of KMV by DST, Government of India.
Jalandhar, December 20, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a one-day workshop on the topic Waste Segregation and Hand Hygiene. The workshop was organised under a research project granted by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to the faculty members of KMV, on the topic Developing Low Cost Teaching Aids in Promoting Sustainable Waste Management: Swachh Bharat Paradigms.
Bharat Bansal, Project Manager, Reap Benefit participated as a keynote speaker in this workshop. Along with them, Seema Soni, Regional Programming Director, Radio City, Punjab, Haryana, Saroj and Suman from Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, RJ Himanshu and RJ Sandy were also present.
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi during her address welcomed all the guests and made them aware of the need and importance of sustainable waste management to achieve the objective of Swachh Bharat. Along with this, she also inspired all the youth to strengthen the resolve for a clean India as well as a new emerging India. Shri Bharat Bansal during his address said that in a country with a huge population like India, it is very important to create awareness about the need and importance of waste management and concepts like recycling can prove to be very effective in this direction. In his address, he cleared the doubts of the participants with various interesting examples.
Speaking on this occasion, Seema Soni shared with the participants many important benefits of waste management like controlling increasing pollution, balancing the ecosystem, conservation of natural resources. Attendees in the workshop from Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar Saroj and Suman acquainted everyone about the different kinds of dustbins for the proper waste management.
It is pertinent to mention that more than 300 students from various schools participated in this workshop with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Pardeep Arora and Dr Harpreet Kaur and the whole organising committee for successfully organising the workshop.
