KMV organizes 135th Saraswati pooja samaroh
It was a ceremony to accord warm and traditional welcome to the new students
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized 135th Saraswati Poojan in a ceremonial way with its traditional fervor on virtual platform. The chief guest Santokh Singh Chaudhary, Member Parliament, and Karamjeet Chaudhary, Former DPI (Colleges) Chandigarh, were accorded online floral felicitations on this auspicious occasion .
Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal presided over the function to mark the onset of a new academic session formally. The proceedings of the function were flagged off with an invocation to the Goddess of Learning –Maa Sarawati to seek her blessings for new entrants of this session. Welcoming the Chief Guest of the day, Chander Mohan expressed his gratitude to Chaudhary for having spared his valuable time for his virtual presence.
Chander Mohanji expressed his concern over the digital divide between economically advantageous and disadvantageous sections created due to online education pushing some students to the margins. He assured that technological devices cannot substitute a teacher, so KMV fraternity would try their best to reach out to such students to bring them at par with others who are better equipped once these trying circumstances are over.
The College Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi read out a detailed report of the college’s achievements in diverse fields – academic, co-academic, sports and many extension activities performed even during Covid-imposed lockdown. She shared with immense pride that KMV has maintained its lead role by taking long strides on the path of excellence with its Top position of being No. 1 college in Punjab as per Best Colleges Survey -2020 by India Today & Outlook . The Autonomous Status of KMV has been functionally effective and successful with the introduction of as many as 21 new age programmes, out of which 4 being the recent ones granted to DDU Kaushal Kendra under MHRD, New Delhi. The college Principal averred that the educational policy successfully implemented at KMV, in sync with New Education Policy( NEP-20) reflects futuristic vision of KMV.
Congratulating the college authorities and students on achieving newer heights constantly, Chaudhary expressed his deep sense of honor for KMV. He maintained that this premier college of his constituency with its Autonomous and Star Status has made a mark all over the world with its excellence & has earned the trust of generations and empowered them to reach top echelons of professional fields all across the globe. He motivated the young learners to imbibe the best ethical and moral qualities through their education that is the only tool for empowerment, hence instrumental in the progression of mankind. Some nostalgic moments of Sh. Chaudhary’s visits to KMV were shared on screen. A dance performance and videos of senior college students singing traditional welcome songs for their new juniors were also shown to the present.
A formal vote of thanks was extended by Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee. In his motivational message, he exhorted scholars to inculcate those qualities in themselves that are key not only to success but also help in surmounting adversities with confidence in life. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing. Committee, Dhruv Mittal, Treasurer, KMV Managing Committee, Neerja Chander Mohan, Dr. Satpal Gupta and all worthy members of the college management for their valuable virtual presence to grace the occasion.
