KMV organizes extension lecture on Personal Branding Strategies to Enhance Career Options
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has always been making efforts for the holistic development of its students. In keeping with this tradition, B. Voc. Management and Secretarial Practices, Centre for Competitive Exams and P.G. Department of Commerce and Business Administration jointly organized an extension lecture on Personal Branding Strategies to Enhance Career Options for the students of B.Com (Hons.) Sem. IV, B.Com (Pass and Hons.) Sem. VI, B. VoC (MSP) Sem. II, IV and VI, B.Sc Botany Sem VI and M.Com Sem. II and IV.
Jalandhar, February 26, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has always been making efforts for the holistic development of its students. In keeping with this tradition, B. Voc. Management and Secretarial Practices, Centre for Competitive Exams and P.G. Department of Commerce and Business Administration jointly organized an extension lecture on Personal Branding Strategies to Enhance Career Options for the students of B.Com (Hons.) Sem. IV, B.Com (Pass and Hons.) Sem. VI, B. VoC (MSP) Sem. II, IV and VI, B.Sc Botany Sem VI and M.Com Sem. II and IV.
The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Harish Gautam, a business instructor in college of New Caledonia, British Columbia, Canada. He also worked as marketing manager in Amazon and Milo Enterprises Inc.
Dr. Harish Gautam during the lecture acquainted the students with various concepts of personal branding & guided them about the changing scenario of the job market and how to make strategies to cope up with the changing industrial environment. He also discussed about the response to shifting job market dynamics, emerging trends in the market and emphasized on cultivating the right skills and mindset to become employable nationally and internationally. He further highlighted that the freelance economy is our future & gave an in-depth knowledge about the hiring strategy of companies in future, open talent strategy of companies, freelancers and the shift from job hunt to talent hunt by various job providers. He also explained the need to develop appropriate skills for various career options like data analyst, data visualization artist, digital marketer and office administrator. Dr. Harish addressed the queries of all the participants very aptly. The workshop was attended by more than 150 students.
Principal Prof Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her gratitude for the resource person and averred that the workshop was very interactive and indeed a great learning experience for all the participants. She lauded the efforts of Dr. Neeraj Maini, Dr. Sabina Batra and Dimple for taking initiatives to make the students abreast of the latest developments in the field of commerce and industry.
