KMV organizes online celebration of achieving top national rankings in India Today Survey, 2020

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has been ranked first among the colleges of Punjab and Top 20 Women Colleges of India in various categories by India Today Ranking 2020. In order to mark the celebration of achieving Top National Rankings, KMV organized online celebration by inviting all the fraternity of KMV. Sh Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal presided over the celebrations. The event was graced by acclaimed luminaries such as Mr Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Dr Sushma Chawla, Vice President , KMV Managing Committee, Dr Sushma Chopra, Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Sh Dhruv Mittal, Treasurer, KMV Managing Committee & Dr Satpal Gupta, Member, KMV Managing Committee among others. In addition to this, numerous scholars from Boston University, USA also joined for the celebrations. The celebrations started with the traditional lamp lighting and with the recital of the holy Gayatri Mantra followed by Saraswati Vandana. In her welcoming address, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that being the first & only women college to be bestowed autonomous status KMV has entered the higher league of colleges and has also introduced many reforms in education. KMV has added another feather in its highly embellished cap by laying claim to top State ranking in courses like BCA, Fashion Designing, BBA, B.Sc  et al. She maintained that it is only due to the visionary leadership of President sir and also the joint hard-work & dedication of faculty and the students that the KMV has scaled new heights of success. Addressing the occasion, Sh Chander Mohan ji congratulated the Principal of KMV, faculty members and especially the students who are all working tirelessly for the development and growth of the college. He maintained that from the 40000 colleges under UGC, it is a great honor for KMV to bag the top positions in India. On this occasion, various alumni of KMV from India & abroad shared their thoughts on this outstanding achievement of the college in which they all were showering many praises and best wishes to their beloved institution. A short movie depicting the social extension activities carried out by KMV during the COVID-19 pandemic was also showcased during this event. 
Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi concluded by stating the fact that with a commitment to meaningful futures KMV prepares the students for life skills with programs like Foundation Course, Moral Education, Personality Development, Social Outreach, Gender Sensitization, Self Defense, Reasoning & Mental Abilities. All these USPs have been instrumental in making KMV the top- ranking college. 
Dr. Madhumeet, Head, PG Department of English was the moderator for the whole event. It is pertinent to mention that in the last year ranking of India Today 2019 also, KMV was declared No 1 College in India in various categories.
