KMV organizes a seminar on Contemporary Literature of Hindi
Jalandhar, September 14, 2018: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya - the Heritage & Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar on the occasion of 'Hindi Diwas' organized a seminar on the Contemporary Literature of Hindi: Relevance in modern context. The event was organized by the PG Department of Hindi. Sh.Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal presided over the seminar. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr.Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor, Central University, Himachal Pradesh, whereas, renowned literary figure and a famous journalist Sh.Suresh Seth and Sh.Raman Bir, Deputy Editor, Dainik Bhaskar also shared their views on various dimensions of contemporary literature.. The students of BA, MA, and BA Hons. of the Hindi, Punjabi & English department were present during the conference. Dr.Bedi also appreciated the historical contribution of KMV in the field of education and women empowerment. Dr. HS Bedi introduced to the students the collective literary heritage of India and also expressed his faith that in the 21st century, there shall be various literary creations that would motivate and give a positive direction to the youth of the country and would connect the youth to the eternal heritage of the country. ''Prof. Suresh Seth explained to the students that how in the modern times, the contemporary literature written in different languages have played a revolutionary role in the present times. He especially mentioned about the literature of various authors namely Balwant Gargi, Krishna Sobti, Bhishm Sahni, Amrita Pritam and Mohan Rakesh. 'Sh. Raman Bir elaborated on the relationship between Hindi language and Hindi literature and also admitted that it is a challenge to make the youth connect to these literary creations. 'Sh. Chandar Mohan in his address mentioned that the life values in the contemporary literature is its real power and as long as this power remains in the contemporary literature it will remain relevant in the society. He also motivated the students to read the contemporary literature and to understand the values of life, and human culture imbibed in it. 'Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi while addressing the students averred that literature is the most valuable asset of the society in which one can learn how to live one's life in an honest & constructive way.
