KMV pays a nostalgic tribute to Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) paid a nostalgic tribute to Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh on his Martyrdom Day at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Heritage Memorial situated in the college campus.
Jalandhar, March 23, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) paid a nostalgic tribute to Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh on his Martyrdom Day at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Heritage Memorial situated in the college campus.
The celebrations were jointly organised by PG Department of English, Department of History, Department of Student Welfare, PG Department of Hindi , PG Department of Fine Arts & PG Department of Music, PG Department Animation, Department of Physical Education.
On this occasion, various activities & competitions namely online quiz, poster making, digital painting, cycle rally, poetical recitation, debate, declamation, patriotic themed dance and singing, slogan writing & lecture were organized for the students in which students from all the streams participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi along with faculty members and students paid nostalgic tribute to the great martyr. Prof. Dwivedi averred that every time she thought of the sacrifices of the magnitude of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, she was indeed humbled. She exhorted one and all to idolize the martyr like Bhagat Singh and to carry forward the message of Bhagat Singh as this will be the true tribute to the national hero. She further maintained that it is a matter of great pride that KMV has a close connection with Bhagat Singh as he was very close to KMV’s then Principal Acharya Lajjawati and used to take shelter at KMV during the struggle for national freedom. As a mark of our tribute to Bhagat Singh and to cherish close connection and association with him, KMV has constructed a heritage memorial in the pristine surroundings of KMV hostel. KMV is a nationalistic institution which has played an active role in the freedom struggle as our students have been among the first women to join the freedom struggle. This premier institution of women empowerment has been held in great esteem by national leaders and has been visited by a galaxy of national leaders including five presidents and five prime ministers of India.
Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Head, PG Department of English, Dr Gurjot, Head, Department of History & the whole organizing committee for successfully organizing the celebrations.
