KMV successfully commences a seven-day NSS camp based on Indian Knowledge System
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized a seven-day NSS Camp based on the theme of Indian Knowledge System (IKS).
Jalandhar, April 8, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized a seven-day NSS Camp based on the theme of Indian Knowledge System (IKS).
During the camp, a new initiative has been taken to acquaint the volunteers with the snippets of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) as well as to promote indigenous Indian systems of knowledge. To fulfill this purpose different workshops based on various themes will be conducted namely Quantum Mechanics and Indian Philosophies, Modernisation of Ayurveda: Medical Pluralism in Post-Manu Smriti World, India Knowledge System: Millets and Food Preservation, Ancient Indian science (Vedic Numerology and Astrology): Modern Interpretations, Vedic Mathematics Sutras: Relevance in Modern Mathematics, Principles in Ancient Texts: Water Harvesting and Biodiversity Conservation etc.
The inaugural session of the camp was chaired by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. In her address, she emphasized on the role of youth in the nation building and apprised the volunteers about the Vision 2047 for Bharatiya Rasayanasastra.
Principal also conducted a workshop on “Guru Shishya Parampara” and discussed the relevance in modern times. She also discussed about modern concept of hostel and boarding having their legacy in Gurukul, an ancient Indian system of education. She averred that KMV has always been taking various initiatives as college aims to contribute for betterment of the society in various ways. She congratulated Ashima Sahni, Dr Sonik Bhatia and Anand Prabha.
