KMV successfully commences One Week long FDP on Intellectual Property Rights: Fostering Research and Entrepreneurship in association with AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL)
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) successfully commenced a one week long Faculty Development Programme on Intellectual Property Rights: Fostering Research and Entrepreneurship in association with AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL).
Jalandhar, January 27, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) successfully commenced a one week long Faculty Development Programme on Intellectual Property Rights: Fostering Research and Entrepreneurship in association with AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL).
The chief guest for the inaugural session was Prof. Sudhir Kumar Arya, Professor, Department of Sanskrit and Indic Studies, Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi. Alok Sondhi, General Secreatry, KMV Managing Committee was the Presiding Dignitary. The faculty development programme started with opening address by Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. She welcomed the distinguished guests and participants.
Principal highlighted the growing importance of IPRs in today’s scenario and how KMV is leading the initiatives in this field by motivating its faculty and students to apply for more IPRs. The inaugural address was delivered by Prof Sudhir Kumar Arya in which he talked about importance of IPRs for faculty and students. The Presidential Address was given by Shri Alok Sondhi in which he highlighted the role of KMV in promoting the culture of IPR and Patent filing among the faculty and the students.
The first session was conducted by Dr Arya on Relevance of IPRs in research and innovation. He discussed the importance of intellectual property rights in the field of academics, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Dr Arya also talked on the consequences of copyright infringement. He further discussed the process to avoid infringement of copy rights. The real life examples shared by Prof Arya made the session very interesting and engaging. The resource person for the second session was Dr Kuldeep Singh Nagla, Prof., NIT Jalandhar. He talked about process of filing IPRs in very simple and lucid manner. He made his talk interesting by sharing factual information on patents, copy rights and industrial designs. The second session was followed by hands on training session which was indeed a fruitful experience for the participants.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Narinderjit Kaur (FDP Co Coordinator).
Principal lauded the efforts of the whole organising committee for successfully organising the FDP. It is pertinent to mention that the second day of the FDP will also witness the presence of eminent scholars.
