KMV successfully concludes Short Term Course on Fostering Social Responsibility and Community Engagement in Higher Education Institutions of India under UBA, GoI
Organised short term course in collaboration with RCI UBA- Rural Development Department, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh
Jalandhar, March 27, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous ) successfully concluded the short term course on Focusing Social Responsibility and Community Engagement in Higher Education Institutions in India organised by the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh under Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan of Ministry of Education, Government of India. Mr. Umesh Verma, Joint Registrar, Class-I, PCS Officer, Ferozepur was the Chief Guest during the Valedictory Ceremony of the Program and Dr. Hemant Kumar Vinayak, Course Coordinator specially attended the program.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcome the guests averred that Kanya Maha Vidyalaya is committed to the cause of social empowerment and social empowerment of women in particular. She further maintained that in the direction of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan also, KMV is playing a leading role in the process of social development. Mr. Umesh Verma, who was specially present in the program, in his address clarified the role of cooperative in rural development and said that cooperative sector is the backbone of the society whose main objective is social and economic development. Since its inception, there are approximately three million cooperatives worldwide today. The co-operative societies, playing a vital role in the rural areas, are committed to meet the socio-economic needs of the farmers by providing them loans at very low interest rates and providing them with other agricultural inputs. During the technical session held on the last day of the program, Dr. VK Kaul, (Retd.) Prof., Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana while discussing the topic of Empowering Women in Agriculture said that land and property have been in the hands of men but now times have changed and women have also increased their participation in this field. He said that a number of such institutions and schemes have been set up to contribute towards the economic empowerment of women.
Mr. Hemant Kumar Vinayak on the occasion gave a speech at strengthening New Education Policy. He presented his views in detail on the topic of NEP 2020 Implementation, Responsibility and Community Engagement: Views and Suggestions. It is to be mentioned that in the inaugural function on the first day of this highly successful program, Mr. Jaspreet Singh, ADC Rural gave a detailed account of the social responsibility of the participants in particular.
In the various sessions held on the second day of the program, Mr. Ankit Chhabra, Co-Founder, Sanjhi Sikhya participated as the keynote speaker and gave detailed information about Adult Development Joy of Learning and Punjab Youth Leadership programs. On the same day, Shivananda Das, CEO, Technology Business Incubator, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar spoke in detail about its role in agri startups and rural businesses. During the sessions held on the third day of the program, Mr. Surjit Lal Sahota while addressing on the topic of Rural Self Employment shared his views on various ways of connecting students from rural background with their careers. In the second technical session, Mrs. Parveen Abrol discussed the topic of Helpline App for Rural Women and Police Women Desk. The fourth day of the program started with Dr. Monica Sharma, Director, Gandhian Studies Centre, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya discussing the topic of Empowering Rural Women through Gandhian Studies Centre, informed everyone that how this centre has conducted courses like Fashion Designing, Cosmetology, Basic Computer Training etc to empower rural women and also spoke about the role being played by the government in empowering women in the backward areas of the society. Dr. Pradeep Arora, Head, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science on the same day discussed the topic of Smart Precision Agriculture for Sustainable Environment. In the second session held on this day Ms Ramanpreet Kaur, Coordinator, NGO. Green Sparrow, Jalandhar presented his views on the topic "My Garbage, My Responsibility" under Swachh Bharat Mission. During the third session, Dr. Hemant Kumar Vinayak also talked to the delegates involved in the program about integrating higher education in the social sphere under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
