Jalandhar, February 8, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised the Annual Athletic Meet Trailblazer-2K25. At the outset, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the Chief Guest Vaneet Dhir, Mayor, Jalandhar. 

Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal was the Presiding Dignitary for the event. Dr Satpal Gupta and Dr Kamal Gupta, Member, KMV Managing Committee also graced the occasion. 

After the unfurling of KMV Sports Flag, it was time for March Past by Volleyball, Handball, Softball, Kho Kho Athletes, Student Council and NCC squad of the college. Squad teams were lead by players of national and international level as the display of discipline and team spirit was spectacular. 
More than 500 athletes showcase their sports skills during the athletic meet. 

Addressing the gathering, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi thanked Vaneet for his inspiring presence and blessings on the Athletic Meet. She congratulated all the sportswomen who had made their mark in the field of sports with their diligence and skill. She averred that sports is a prestigious human activity since the dawn of human civilisation and we cannot imagine the world without the sports. She also encouraged one and all to participate whole heartedly in the events of the day.

The Chief Guest Vaneet addressing the eagerly listening young sportsperson said that the face of sports had seen a sea change in the recent years as women had entered the arena of sports with aplomb in the 21st century. He said that KMV has been a torchbearer for women empowerment and education since its inception as the institution has been producing brilliant women leaders in the field of education and sports. 

On this occasion, all the winners of the various events and the coaches of different games were honoured by the Chief Guest. During the colourful progression of the day various events in the categories for players & non-players took place namely 100 metre & 200 metre race, Sack race, needle and thread race, Three legged race, 400 metre race for non-players. The other events for the faculty included Tug of War (Male & Female Staff) & Musical Chair. 

The winners for the various events were: In the non-players’ category of the 100-meter race, Tara secured first place, followed by Kajalpreet in second and Harpreet in third place, respectively. In the players’ category, Harpreet came first, Divya second, and Nisha third. In the hostel students category, Tashu came first, Lovepreet &  Ayushi second, and Gurleen third. In the three-legged race non-players category, Harmanpreet and Palakpreet secured first place, followed by Vanshika and Preeti in second, and Niharika and Komalpreet in third. In the three-legged race hostel students category, Tashu and Pahul secured first place, followed by Simran and Aayushi in second, and Kashish and Saloni in third. Additionally, in the 200-meter race non-players category, Tara secured first place, followed by Kajal in second, and Lovepreet in third. In the players’ category, Manpreet secured first place, Nisha second and Divya third. Furthermore, in the 400-meter race organised for players, Manpreet secured first place, Nisha second, and Manjot third. Additionally, in the 50-meter dash for female staff members in junior category, Alisha secured first place, Priya second, and Mandeep third, and in senior category, Hardeep secured first place, Neetu second and Gopi Sharma third. In needle and thread race, Simran, Pawandeep and Shanu secured first, second and third positions respectively. In needle and thread race hostel student category, Gurleen, Reena and Sania secured first, second and third positions respectively. It is worth mentioning that Manpreet declared Best Athlete in the players’ category, Tara declared Best Athlete in Non-players’ category and Tashu declared Best Athlete in the Hostel Students category. 

Staff members who had participated and won in cricket & badminton matches were also honoured with medals and certificates. 

Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Davinder, Manpreet & NCC Department for successfully organising the annual athletic meet.
