KMV successfully organises Inter-College IT Fest Kite-2021
More than 250 participants from 23 colleges and universities of India participate in the fest
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya’s PG Department of Computer Science and Applications organised an Inter College IT Fest titled KITE-2021 through online Platform. This IT fest consisted of various events that witnessed a huge participation from the students from various universities and colleges.
There was an overwhelming response witnessing more than 250 participants from 23 universities and colleges from various states and Union Territories of India. Seven events were organised during the fest namely Net Savvy, Logic Building, Digital Painting, IT Quiz, Power Point presentation, Logo Designing and Solo Dance. The chief guest for the event was Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The First event of the KITE 2021 was Solo Dance which judged dancing capabilities of students. Team from APJ College, Jalandhar bagged the Ist position, team from Doaba College got the 2nd position and team from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya and Gujarat University achieved the 3rd positions. The second event was Logic Building. In this event, students successfully showcased their creative software development skills. Team from DAV, Amritsar bagged the Ist position, team from from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar and APJ College, Jalandhar got the 2nd positions and team of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar bagged the 3rd position. In Digital Painting team from Gujarat University bagged both the Ist position and the 2nd position and team from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar achieved the 3rd position. The fourth event was IT Quiz. Team from P.U. Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur bagged the Ist position, team from APJ College, Jalandhar got the 2nd position and team from APJ College, Jalandhar and GNA University both achieved the 3rd positions. The fifth event was PowerPoint presentation. Here students prepared a PowerPoint presentation on specific topic and showcased their presentation skills to the audience. Team from Chitkara University, Chandigarh bagged the Ist position, team from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar got the 2nd position and team from MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh and DAV Amritsar jointly achieved the 3rd positions. The sixth event was Net SAVVY in which team from Apeejay College of Fine Arts , Jalandhar bagged the Ist position, team from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar got the 2nd position and team from Guru Nanak National College for Women, Nakodar achieved the 3rd position. The seventh event was Logo designing in which students had to use innovative ideas to design a logo. Team from DAV College, Amritsar bagged the Ist position, team from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar and Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar bagged the 2nd positions and team from Lyallpur Khalsa college, Jalandhar achieved the 3rd position. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such events provide a good platform to students to display their creativity and talent besides getting practical exposure. She further maintained that despite being COVID times, KMV from time to time keeps on organising such competitions through online platform in order to instil a spirit of healthy competition in the students.
Principal lauded the efforts of Mrs. Suman Khurana, Head, PG Department of Computer Applications, Dr. PardeepArora and all the team members of PG Dept. of Computer Science & Applications for their efficient team work and the flawless coordination of events.
