KMV successfully organises “Sukriti 22” Fashion Show
Spectacular and colourful display of dresses designed and modelled by KMVites
Jalandhar, April 13, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised Annual Fashion Fiesta “Sukriti 22” on the theme of Sustainable Fashion. Dedicated to the goal of empowering women, the fiesta included more than 500 budding models and designers of KMV.
It is pertinent to mention that the creations which were showcased in total eight different rounds of the show namely Kerala Mural Karisma, Kleid der Cocktail, Fashion & Fusion, Zero Waste Ingenuity, Avante garde in Khadi, Corporate Raiment, Nakashi & Dilrubai were designed by the students and were also modelled by the students themselves.
Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed and thanked all the guests for their constant patronage and encouragement which went a long way to make the show a thumping success year after year. She also congratulated the organisers for consistently pushing up the high standard of bars of performance that they set up for themselves year after year.
The breathtakingly beautiful presence of young beautiful models was complemented by the presence of dignitaries from various walks of life. It included Mrs Gagan Kundra Thori, IRS Officer as the Chief Guest, Sh. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal, Sh. Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Mrs Anuradha Sondhi, Dr Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee, Mr Dhruv Mittal, Treasurer, KMV Managing Committee, Mrs Shiv Mittal, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Major Gen.G.G. Dwivedi & Mrs Parminder Beri. This fashion show was a collaborative venture of KMV‘s PG Department of Fashion Designing, PG Department of Cosmetology , DDU Kaushal Kendra, PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and PG Department of Fine Arts. Models selected and trained from all the departments of the college walked the ramp. Each of the eight rounds of the fashion show explored sustainable fashion in a new form of creativity. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Thori lauded the efforts & initiatives of KMV and said that these kind of activities play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills of the students so that they may be able to make a mark in their lives. Mr Chander Mohan appreciating the consistent efforts of the budding designers of KMV said that the students of KMV are very much talented and creative and always proves their mettle in their respective fields. Ethnic wear, traditional wear, office wear, western dresses, evening gowns, Indo Western were the highlight of this glamorous event. Innovative sari drapes and lehengas added to the richness of the show. The prestigious task of judgement was done by Dr. Deepali Luthra, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Mr Puneet Arora and Ms Samriddhi Agarwal, famous fashion designers were the other two judges. On this occasion, Mr Raman Jain, Mr Rajendra Jain, Mr Amardeep Sahi, Mr Raman Negi, Mr Ajay Kumar, Mr Amit, Mr Sushil Behl, Ms Aarti Mahajan, Mr Ajay Kaushal were also honoured for their contribution to the Fashion Show. Mr Pallab Bose, Anchor, Eventaa, New Delhi was the moderator for the Fashion Show.
