KMV welcomes Padma Shree Dr. Kiran Seth, ex-IIT Professor and founder of SPIC MACAY
Younger generation should preserve their culture and traditions: Dr Kiran Seth
Jalandhar, September 2, 2022:Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) hosted a function to honour Dr. Kiran Seth, Padma Shree, an ex-IIT Professor and the founder of the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture among Youth (SPIC MACAY) here during his 145 day cycling mission from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal and Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed Dr Seth. Dr Seth motivated young learners through precept and speech by his firm faith that devotion to one’s passion should be meditative, a means to higher goal not as an end in life.
During his interaction with the students, Dr.Kiran Seth lauded the efforts of KMV in promoting the Indian culture. She also laid emphasis, especially, on the importance of honing the skill of concentration of the students. He emphasised upon the relevance of Indian classical music as the Indian classical music activates parallel processing channels of the brain. He also gave many vital tips to the students for increasing concentration by meditation and yoga. He explained the importance of cycling in the life of students.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that personalities like Dr Seth are a great source of inspiration for the younger generation that how a person should work selflessly for the society.
Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Neerja ChanderMohan, Member, KMV Managing Committee and Anuradha Sondhi were also present on the occasion.
