Jalandhar, October 6, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) always excel in sports activities along with the academics. In an another major achievement, KMV players performed brilliantly & also bagged champion position in various sports competitions organised under district level Khedan Watan Punjab Dia- 2023 organised by District Sports Department, Jalandhar.
KMV’s volleyball under 17 & 21 team, Handball under 17 & 21 team, Kho-Kho under 17 & 21 team, secured champion position. Hardeep Kaur also bagged silver medal in 400 metre, gold medal in 100 metre, silver medal in 50 metre in swimming, whereas, Rajveer Kaur bagged silver medal in 50 metre and bronze medal in 50 metre in swimming. Gurjit Kaur also secured gold medal in shot out and discuss throw and Jaspreet Kaur bagged silver medal in long jump & bronze medal in 100 metre. It is pertinent to mention that all the players have been selected for state level tournament.
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the team players on their brilliant achievement. She averred that players at KMV are provided many facilities which include free education, hostel, mess & transport facilities. They avail a lot from state of the art infrastructure comprising Gymnasium, Health Club, Swimming Pool and sprawling play grounds. All these exceptional facilities elicit such excellent outcomes.
Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi also adumbrated that KMV will continue to provide these facilities to the students who continue to prove their mettle in sports arena. She also lauded the efforts of Dr Davinder, Baldina and all the coaches namely Tajinder Singh, Nirmal Singh, Sandeep, Sanjeev Gandhi and Deeraj Kumar.
