KMVites develop innovative projects to facilitate society

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has always stressed upon innovations in science education for enabling smart and inclusive growth of students. P.G. Department of Physics is constantly working in the directions of imparting science education through innovative teaching methodologies. One of the innovative methodologies is to organise special mentoring sessions for students with innovative minds. To actualise innovative ideas of students in the form of projects, KMV organised a trip to Innovation Hub of Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala. Under the guidance of  Er. Vishal Sharma, Scientist cum Chief Mentor of Innovation Hub, Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala KMVites developed an automatic machine of hand sanitiser and also constructed a project on water sensor. In the on-going time of pandemic, students have realised the need of frequent sanitisation & with this objective in mind, students have developed an automatic hand sanitising machine which will be installed in the entrance of their class rooms. Keeping in mind the problem of water stagnation during rainy season in the cities, students have developed an automatic sensor system which will activate holes in the road to increase the drainage and storage of rain water. Both the projects are designed to remove the problems faced by society in day to day life.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of P.G. Department of Physics for organising this mentoring session. She added that today innovation is the need of hour and KMV’s curriculum always give much focus on innovation and entrepreneurship.
