Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya received appreciation from Municipal Corporation Jalandhar for contributing to the noble cause of creating a Swacch Sashakt society in Jalandhar.
Under Swacch Survekshan Program KMV has organized and participated in several events in collaboration with Municipal Corporation Jalandhar. This includes Swacchta Hi Sewa, Swacchta Pakhwara, celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi district level function & contribution to plastic free program. Moreover, 250 safai karamcharis have been given special training under the Swach Bharat Mission. The students of PG Department of Fashion Designing also designed and stitched 120 uniforms for rag pickers. Under autonomy, KMV stresses on value added programs which sensitize its students to become better citizens and contribute to the welfare of the society like the participation of the students in the Angikar campaign of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV always work for the betterment of the society and always strive to make a colossal contribution to women education and women empowerment. She further maintained that being the premier institution of India it is the social responsibility of the students as well as the teachers of KMV to bring out the awareness in the society on major social issues.
The members of team KMV who were felicitated by Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar are Dr Madhumeet, Dr Gurjot, Mrs Harpreet Kaur, Dr Ravi, Dr Pardeep, Mrs Ashima Sahni, Dr Monica, Dr Anushobha, Dr Iqbal Singh, Ms Barun Kaur, Ms Navpreet Kaur and Ms Deepika.
