Jalandhar, August 11, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous), known for its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development, has once again proven its mettle by achieving remarkable success through its dynamic Placements. The distinguished accomplishments of KMV's students underscore the institution's unwavering commitment to fostering global competitiveness and providing world-class education.
Throwing more light on it, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that across various faculties, KMV students have demonstrated exceptional talent and proficiency, earning recognition on the international stage. Students from KMV's Hospitality & Tourism program secured coveted placements at esteemed establishments such as Hilton Hotel in Boston and Loews Hotel in Arlington, Texas, USA at a lucrative package of 37 lacs showcasing their exemplary practical skills and training. Ms. Lavleen Saini, one of the outstanding students of M.Sc. Physics, also secured a prestigious placement at Rutgers University, USA. Lavleen will be joining the Department of Materials Science & Engineering, School of Engineering, Rutgers University as a Graduate Assistant. In her new role, she will be working as a project fellow, earning an impressive stipend of 4000 dollars per month. Jasmine Parmar from Bio-Technology Department was selected to join the Wyss Institute for Biologically inspired Engineering at Harvard University under the Khorana Programme for Scholars initiative of Government of India. Selected under this prestigious program, Jasmine got an opportunity to get research exposure at leading U.S. universities over summer 2024 and also got an exposure to world class scientific research facilities. Vajinder Kaur, a student of the PG Department of Mathematics, has been selected for Master of Science in Statistical Practice program at Boston University, USA. In recognition of her outstanding academic achievements and potential, she has been awarded a prestigious 45% merit tuition fee waiver scholarship by the Department of Mathematics, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Vajinder Kaur stands out as the only student from northern India to be selected for this esteemed program this year. Additionally, she is among the few students who have received the maximum scholarship amount awarded by the graduate school, underscoring her exceptional capabilities and dedication. Moreover, six students of KMV were also selected as delegates to represent India at the World Youth Festival in Russia. KMV students showcased their cultural exchange abilities and global outlook through captivating performances, including Indian folk dance and collaborative presentations. Faculty members & students from the Psychology Department were awarded scholarships to attend a Summer University course in Hungarian Language and Culture at Eotvos Lorand University, highlighting KMV's dedication to interdisciplinary learning and global exposure. Additionally, faculty members from the science department secured a prestigious six-month fellowship from the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Italy, underscoring KMV's academic rigour and international recognition within the scientific community. These remarkable achievements align seamlessly with the objectives outlined in the New Education Policy, emphasising the importance of global competitiveness and exposure.
Prof. Dwivedi adumbrated that KMV's consistent success in placing individuals on global platforms reaffirms its standing as a premier educational institution dedicated to providing education of international standards and preparing students and faculty alike for global opportunities and challenges.
