KMV’s month long environment protection drive inaugurated
The drive laumched by Munucupal Commissioner, Karnesh Sharma
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya commenced Environment Protection Drive. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Karnesh Sharma, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar. Water Warriors & NCC cadets of KMV along with all the faculty members participated in the drive with full zeal & enthusiasm.
Welcoming the guest, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV is always a trailblazer institution in the environment conservation initiatives such as clean & green campus & have also carried out umpteen activities like tree plantation drives, cleanliness rallies & drives, polythene free city campaign and moreover, colossal contribution has been made to Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan by KMV. She further maintained that this drive has been done in order to improve air quality and to improve the surroundings by making the environment clean and green. Prof. Dwivedi adumbrated that KMV will also initiate environment protection drive in the villages & schools adopted by KMV under Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan. Moreover, KMV will also extend this drive to the different areas of the city to make the city clean & green. Mr Karnesh Sharma addressing the gathering said that it is an honour to visit KMV, most prestigious institution of India & it is very important that the institution like KMV is playing a pivotal role in the environment conservation & other social outreach activities. During the drive, Mr Karnesh planted a tree in the KMV campus in order to motivate the students for environment conservation.
Principal appreciated the students and faculty member and also motivated them to contribute significantly to the environment conservation. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare, Mrs. Sadhna Tandon, Head, Department of Environmental Science, Lt. Seema Arora, Mrs. Ashima Sahni & Dr Harpreet Kaur for successfully organising the event.
