KMV’s NCC Cadet Bhawna Thakur excels at EBSB (Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat), DRDO Camp at Chandigarh
KMV’s Cadet Bhawna Thakur is the only cadet from 02 PB(G) BN NCC to attend the camp
Jalandhar, May 17, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar (Autonomous) NCC cadet Bhawna Thakur brought honour to KMV for being the only cadet from 02 PB(G) BN NCC attending Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (DRDO) camp at Chandigarh. She learnt discipline, sense of integration, leadership qualities and honour of nation. Camp included PT exercise, drill, lectures and presentation on topics of science and technology and National Security and peaceful use of nuclear energy, leadership qualities. She along with other cadets got the golden opportunity to visit the DRDO lab (TBRL) and to interact with the scientists.
In TBRL (Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory), cadets were given presentation on different topics like production, processing and characterisation of different high explosive compositions, Blast and Fragmentation studies of warheads, shells and other ammunitions, Captive flight testing of Bombs, Missiles and Airborne systems, Ballistics evaluation of various protective system like body armour, vehicle armour and helmets against small arm ammunition etc. Cadets were exposed to Rail Track Rocket Sled (RTRS), Blast Instrumentation and Damage Studies (BIDS) and Bulletproof Jacket.
Principal Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such camps are very important for holistic education of the students. She lauded the efforts of NCC department for working passionately, bringing such opportunities and activities to the students so they can learn better, and lead the Nation with high spirit. Commanding officer 2 Pb. (G) Bn.NCC Jalandhar Col. Narinder Toor congratulated the cadet for their excellent performance in the training camp and thanked for selecting best of its students for NCC volunteer.
