KMV’s Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi felicitate Dr. Sandeep Kaur on completing PhD in Physics
Jalandhar, November 6, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) makes all attempts to provide global exposure to its students. Recently, Dr. Sandeep Kaur from PG Department of Physics was felicitated by Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi on completing her PhD. Dr. Kaur has done her Bachelors (Non. Medical) and Masters’ of Science (Physics) from KMV. She has completed her PhD from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala on “Rare earth doped borotellurite glasses and glass-ceramics”. She did her PhD under the able guidance of Dr. Neetu Verma, Associate Professor, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya and Dr. O.P. Pandey, Senior Professor, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. During her PhD, Dr. Kaur was awarded with six months ICTP TRIL fellowship from International centre for theoretical physics (ICTP) and ENEA, Italy. During her fellowship she worked at Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA), Italy under the guidance of Dr. Mauro Falconeri. During her training period she worked on the structural properties of glasses and organic materials with special attention to the low frequency region. She was also awarded with IANS summer internship programme. She did her internship under Dr. Sanjay Jhinghan from Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi. She gave the credit of her success to her teachers & Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi for providing her opportunities at various stages of her student life. She also thanked Government of India for the grants like SERB project grants and DBT Star college schemes.
Principal congratulated Dr. Sandeep Kaur on successfully completing her Ph.D and wished her good luck for her future endeavors. She also congratulated PG Department of Physics for providing its students such big opportunities and also encouraged to do their best in the future also.
