KMV'S Vow Team Visited Chaharke Village Students Enlightened about the Practice of Organic Farming

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar always strive for the overall development of their students. This time the ''Vow Team'' running under the PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication visited Chaharke village to know about the lifestyle and the problems of the villagers. During their visit, a farmer named Amarjit Singh told the students that he has been practicing Organic Farming from past many years as his father Avtar Singh was a strict follower of organic farming. Explaining in detail about the organic farming, Amarjit Singh told the students that with the help of natural means, crops can be saved from the destruction of pests and other insects. He also gave a live demonstration about the ways through which the stubble can be used as one of the compost for the crops instead of burning. He also gave a message to the journalism students present there to spread the message of organic farming to the masses as much as possible through various mediums. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that these types of extension activities plays a vital role in sensitizing the students about the practice of Organic Farming as it is the need of the hour today. Mrs Nidhi Sharma and Mr Sandeep Singh also accompanied the students to the village.
