KRANTI PRAKASH JHA- Taking a Big Leap on Silver Screen in M.S Dhoni – The Untold Story

Mumbai, October 5, 2016: The former Mr. Grasim - the ‘Best Dressed Male’ is now one of the best upcoming actors in the most glittering entertainment industry - Bollywood. With his excellent performance on the big screen with the movie, ‘Deswa’, a Bhojpuri film he won a million hearts. The movie was critically acclaimed and was screened at 20 international film festivals and garnered a lot of appreciation. Hailing from Patna and with absolutely no formal training in acting, Kranti Prakash Jha, made a splash in the regional language cinema with his performance in the National Award-winning Maithili film, ‘Mithila Makhaan’, Bhojpuri film Deswa and its Hindi remake, Once Upon a Time in Bihar.
Before joining movies Kranti was the brand ambassador for numerous luxurious brands like, Raymonds suiting and has appeared in print and television commercials for brands such as - LIC Jeevan Jyoti (the commercial ran for three years), Hyundai Accent, Panasonic, Nokia, Pepsodent, VIP to name a few.
In the beginning of his career he joined Alok and Shruti Ulfat’s theatre ‘Avikal’. Later he also worked with Swanand Kirkire’s theatre group and did a play ‘Aao Saathi Sapney Dekhein’. Later Kranti also acted in the Indian Hindi television series, ‘Stories by Rabindranath Tagore’, in episodes ‘APARICHIT & BROKEN NEST’ aired on THE EPIC channel, directed by Anurag Basu and Tani Basu. The show was a visual representation of the short stories by the literary legend Rabindra Nath Tagore.
Taking a big leap on silver screen, Kranti recently played a prominent role in one of the biggest hit and most awaited movies of the year ‘MS Dhoni - The Untold Story’. He played the role of Dhoni’s childhood friend, SANTOSH LAL who teaches him how to play the famous ‘Helicopter Shot’. Back when, Dhoni learned this shot as a youngster, it was called the ‘Thappad Shot’. The two were childhood friends and they travelled to different states to play cricket tournaments. Santosh also supported Dhoni in realizing his aspirations and dreams. Kranti outstanding performance in the movie has been appreciated by audience and critics in such a short span of the movie’s release.
While sharing how excited his experience working in one of the biggest films of the nation playing such a significant role Kranti Prakash Jha mentioned, “It’s incredible to see the film doing so phenomenally well. To be honest, to get the stance right for the famous ‘Helicopter Shot’ was quite difficult for me to learn as well but I’m glad it turned out to look so apt. I’m speechless to see the response I’ve also been receiving post the film’s release; I’ve been getting calls from Late Santosh Lal’s friends telling me that if he were alive, he would’ve absolutely love my performance – hearing this indeed makes you feel great and boosts your confidence more.”
