Kular inaugurated Tech-Fest themed on Innovation in Cycle at SLIET
Ludhiana, March 15, 2019: Today, S.Gurmeet Singh Kular President FICO (Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization) inaugurated the TechFest on the theme Innovation in Cycle, at the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology at Longowal, Sangrur district, Punjab, along with Dr.Shailendra Jain, Director, SLIET, Prof.Vinod Yadava Director NIT Hamirpur, Dr.Ravi kant Mishra HOD Mathematics SLIET. It was notable that today SLIET was the No Vehicle Zone, all the management, chief guest & the guests rode the bicycles through the campus to reach the venue. The annual technical festival of SLIET, techFEST provides a platform to over 10000 eyeballs to witness a magnificent fusion of science and technology with pure delight and enthusiasm. Emerged in 1999 in SLIET, techFEST is a cluster of umpteen number of events with an outreach of over 200+ colleges across India. The Technical events at techFEST have always proved to be the ultimate combination of excellence, innovation and knowledge. Fun events, Model Exhibitions, Celeb shows, that have always thrilled, excited and provided an innovation enriched experience to its spectators. This edition of techFEST introduces “INNOVATION IN BICYCLE DESIGN” that will be witnessed on 15th & 16th March. S. Gurmeet Singh Kular said that he could witness the innovation by the scholars throughout the India, the major emphasis were on the solar & green energy, there were the projects showing a single wind turbines generating the power for the whole village, also we could witness a flour mill being operated by a cycle which was a very green concept utilizing one’s energy spent for cycling and grinding the wheat flour through it, also there was a project for making of papers from resources other than trees, which would be helpful in preserving the environment while generation of papers.
