Kular meets Regional Manager, Central Ground Water Authority

Ludhiana, September 22, 2017: Ludhiana, September 22, 2017: Today, S.Gurmeet Singh Kular President along with Mandeep Choudhary Media Advisor, Federation of Industrial and Commercial organization (FICO), met Sh.S.K.Jain Regional Director Central Ground Water Authority. He raised some points and demanded as under:
Exemption to Micro & Small Units: The Usage of Water in Micro & Small Units is very minimal, so these industries should be exempted from NOC for Water abstraction.
Procedure is Cumbersome: The procedure for obtaining NOC for ground water abstraction is very complex, and requires a lot of documentation. So it is highly recommended that the Procedure should be simplified to facilitate the industry.
Cases after 11.12.1998: Submersibles/ Tubewells installed after 11.12.1998 in Notified areas, i.e. under Municipal Corporation Limits, are not being allowed to apply for NOC for water abstraction. As it has been more than 18 years since the said date, and lot of industry has been established since then, so the industry established after 11.12.1998 should also be allowed to apply for the consent.
Sh. Jain said that he would take the list of recommendations to the Central Ground Water Authority, in New Delhi, and try to get these issues resolved, said Kular.
