KVK Fatehgarh Sahib conducts Oilseed Training Programme at Village Isherhail

Ludhiana, February 5, 2025: A one-day training programme on oilseed crops was successfully conducted at Village Isherhail by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Fatehgarh Sahib. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 50 farmers from the region, who were keen to enhance their knowledge on advanced cultivation practices and pest management strategies for oilseed crops.

Experts led the training session from KVK Fatehgarh Sahib, who provided valuable insights on various aspects of oilseed production. Dr. Amanpreet Singh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), delivered a comprehensive lecture on improved cultivation practices for oilseed crops. Dr. Reet Verma, Assistant Professor (Entomology), sensitized farmers about the major insect pests affecting oilseed crops and their effective management. Dr. Arvindpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor (Horticulture), addressed the farmers on the role of diversified cropping systems and intercropping with oilseed crops to improve soil health and overall farm productivity.

The programme concluded with an interactive farmer-scientist discussion, where farmers shared their field experiences and sought expert guidance on various challenges they faced in oilseed production. The scientists provided practical solutions to farmers' queries, emphasizing the need for scientific approaches in modern agriculture.
