KVK Hoshiarpur and KVK Bathinda win laurels at Annual Zonal Workshop of KVKS

Ludhiana, July 3, 2023: ICAR-ATARI, Zone-1, Ludhiana organized Annual Zonal Workshop of KVKs of Zone-I at Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand from 26th to 28th June, 2023. During this workshop, 72 KVKs from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Leh and Uttarakhand participated.

The KVKs presented the work done during the year 2022 during the workshop. Besides this, the different state agriculture universities also presented the facilities and technical support provided by them for the effective functioning of the KVKs in which Dr. Gurmeet Singh Buttar, Director of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana briefed about the technical backstopping of PAU, Ludhiana for the betterment of KVKs of Punjab.

During the concluding function of the workshop, different KVKs were felicitated for their achievements. The team of KVK Hoshiarpur led by Dr. Maninder Singh Bons, Associate Director (Training) was awarded the best KVK of Punjab for excellent work during the year 2022 while Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Deputy Director (Training), KVK Bathinda and his team was awarded first prize for best presentation of progress report among KVKs of Punjab for the year 2022. On this occasion, Dr. Gurjant Singh Aulakh, Retired Associate Director (Training), KVK Ferozepur was also felicitated.

Dr. Parvender Sheoran, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-1, Ludhiana and Dr. Gurmeet Singh Buttar, Director of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana congratulated the winners and exhorted them for keeping up the excellent work being done by them in future too.
