Leadership Development Programme on Universal Human Values
In a significant initiative to enhance leadership skills grounded in ethical principles, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh today organised a one-day Leadership Development Programme on Universal Human Values for its affiliated colleges at the Rajiv Gandhi College Bhawan, Panjab University campus, here today.
Chandigarh, December 12, 2024: In a significant initiative to enhance leadership skills grounded in ethical principles, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh today organised a one-day Leadership Development Programme on Universal Human Values for its affiliated colleges at the Rajiv Gandhi College Bhawan, Panjab University campus, here today.
The one day programme was organised by Dean College Development Council, Panjab University, in association with Universal Human Values Cell, and P.L. Tandon Chair of Strategic Management. More than 200 Principal/Deans/HoDs and faculty members from various affiliated colleges of Panjab University, attended the event.
PU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig inaugurated the programme and graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her motivating address, she emphasized on the importance and purpose of integrating universal human values into leadership practices to foster an environment of integrity and social responsibility among future leaders.
In his keynote address, the Chairman of the National Coordination Committee for Infrastructure (NCCIP) and former Vice Chancellor of Punjab Technical University, Prof. Rajnish Arora shared his insights on the role of human values in effective leadership, inspiring participants to cultivate a sense of ethical awareness and responsibility in their professional journeys. He also stressed upon inculcation of Human Values into the curriculum. Dr. Kumar Sambhav, another speaker shared his views on holistic development and role of Education. Shri Jitender Narula also shared his insights on Universal Human Values through presentations.
PU Dean College Development Council Prof. Sanjay Kaushik provided an engaging introduction about the programme, highlighting its objectives and the significance of nurturing leaders who are not only skilled but also value-driven. He also spoke about self-evaluation and commitment.
PU Registrar Prof. Y.P. Verma also shared his views and insights on human values. Director, R&D Prof. Yojna Rawat graced the event as Guest-of-Honour. PU Dean of University Instructions Prof. Rumina Sethi graced the valedictory session as Guest of Honour. She enlightened the participants with her views on leadership skills.
