Jalandhar, November 2, 2015: In KMV-The Heritage Institution, under the aegis of KMV Centre for Competitive Exams, which provides special coaching to students aspiring to crack IAS, PES, Bank/PO exams, a guest lecture was organized on the topic ‘Shapes and Contours of New World Order’. Major Gen.Prof.GG Dwivedi, a highly decorated army officer and a visiting faculty at premier Management Institutes and Centres of Excellence in India and Abroad, who also holds a Ph.D Degree in International Relations from JNU was the eminent resource person. Major Gen Dwivedi has attended leadership development programmes at Harvard Kennedy School and Kansas Leadership Centre, USA and also authored books on Military History, Leadership, Geo-strategy and International Relations. Presently he is Prof. & Chairman of International Studies at AMU, Aligarh.
Gen Dwivedi started his discourse by throwing light on the evolution of human society from tribal state to the modern nation state. He talked at length about North-South divide and its impact on global politics. I.T. Revolution has also played a vital role in the changing international relations. Globalization has resulted in interdependence. Elaborating on the post world war scenario, Gen G.G. Dwivedi adroitly explained the concepts of unipolarity, bipolarity and multipolarity. He termed India as a political super power. He explained the political and economic equations of international relations among various countries and explained in detail the importance of international groups like SAARC, European Union, Commonwealth, World Bank etc. Gen Dwivedi very deftly threw light on the “Shapes and Contours of New World Order” which was of tremendous use for the students who are preparing for competitive exams. Then followed the interactive session in which he satisfactorily responded to the students’ queries regarding corruption, UN Security Council Permanent membership, Reservations, NOTA et al.
Principal, Prof. Atima Sharma expressed the hope that the young aspirants for the competitive exams must have benefitted from this close interaction with such a distinguished and erudite personality and his vast repository of experience and knowledge. The program was conducted by the coordinator Mrs Seema Jain and Dr. Monica Sharma delivered a vote of thanks. Dr. Kamaljeet, Dr. Anshu Oberoi, Dr. Sabina Batra, Dr. Madhumeet and the resource persons for this centre were present on the occasion.
