Chandigarh, March 12, 2024: Panjab University’s Department of Anthropology and Boys hostel no.5 organised a lecture on Tuesday on ‘Mera pehla vote deshkeliye’. This special lecture was delivered by Dr. Bharat (UILS, Chandigarh).
The students and research scholars along with the Professors were in attendance. Through this lecture, Dr. Bharat motivated the attendees to cast their vote with responsibility. He made the attendees aware of the importance of every single vote. He gave numerous examples from the past where one vote changed the course of elections and subsequently the impacts it had on the country later. Hence each vote counts and we should feel privileged that we have this power in the form of vote and we should exercise it. Through this lecture, people were also made aware of the fact that its country above everything else. People and their votes should be for the country and its progress ahead and not about their regional, caste or class affiliations. It’s not a choice, it’s a fundamental duty that we all should fulfil with all sincerity. If we do not vote, we have no right to question the government because we didn’t contribute to form that government through our vote.
It was a very insightful lecture that motivated people made them re-realise the importance of every single vote and the value it holds for the future of the country.
